The Age of Elegance

We heard about this American designer through 1stDibs and his book published in 2012: The Age of Elegance. After seeing his classic and elegant interiors, our attention was drawn. The interiors layered in Braquenié fabrics, eighteenth century shaped furniture and great antique pieces.

Learn from a designer

One of Papachristidis’s important keys to his successful work is knowing how rooms and objects are used. No rooms without a purpose and the architecture is always non-negotiable. The history and character of a space is something that should always lasts. “Whatever you do with decoration,” he said, “I believe that the architecture and backdrop should be classical, simple and beautifully proportioned.”

The designer’s obsession with beauty (and sharing it with others) led to attending the 2016 Kips Bay Decorator Show House, where he designed a dining room that had a telephone and a sofa. “That ways, if someone wants to bring a last-minute guest, the answer is always yes.” Papachristidis thinks the most rewarding part of interior designing is that people get pleasure out of the environment.
