Next to the ‘fiera‘ it was all happening in and around the city; a must-visit designer paradise! As we mentioned earlier in our guide, we had many things on our schedule to visit; The Dutch Pavilion, Tortona, Moooi, Superstudio Pìu, Brera and many showrooms. We also discovered some unexpected exhibitions that we will show you in this post, hold on for ‘highlights Milan Design Week 2016 no. 2’; about the Fuorisalone!
The best way to start the Milan Design Week is arriving at a cocktailparty in the early evening. Dedar and 1stDibs organised music, drinks and a ‘festive table’ at Biblioteca Comunale Centrale; “first things first” ;)!
Citizen Watches Installation
At Superstudio Piu we discovered Citizen‘s installation “time is TIME”; an experimental and experiential installation exploring the idea of time by using 120,000 main plates.
Rosanna Orlandi’s secret garden
Hidden between Brera and Tortona we discovered Rosanna Orlandi‘s secret garden with lots of impressive designs like the Ochre pendant glass light, the marble tables with brass strips by Francesco Meda.
Best of Brera District
This is one of the best areas of Milan city and a lot of interesting brands are located in this area with their showroom and also we spotted some new exhibitions like the one by Dimore Studio (first pictures below) and bathroom marble stone by Casone!
We loved these areas, but there is even more to share with you. Hold on for next Friday when we will post our highlights of ‘The Dutch in Milano’, about exhibitions located at the beautiful ‘Palazzo Francesco Turati’…;).
