Mohair has the looks of velvet but has a rougher touch. Where velvet can sometimes feel too classic, mohair can be part of a very luxurious home as well as a more, down-to-earth design.
Many high-end furniture companies use this amazing product. One of the best examples is the all-american company Donghia. For some more information on Donghia look at our previous post here!
The three cuttings of mohair:
Secret mountains of Mohair
What is the story of this lovely product? Mohair is the hair of an ‘Angora’ goat. Originally the Angora goats live high up in the mountains of Tibet. Nowadays it is mostly coming from Angora’s out of South Africa. Angora is called eco-friendly because of it’s durability. This in combination with the elegant feeling makes it the luxury fabric for centuries.
The fabric is perfect for ‘high-traffic’ use. Like for example the chairs in the left picture above in the Washington School House and the sofa next in the Grand Hotel in Stockholm, lovely!!
