Weekendtip: World Press Photo in Amsterdam

Blog Ethnic Chic World Press Photo in Amsterdam

This weekend will be your last chance to visit the World Press Photo exposition in Amsterdam. We love to get inspiration from photography and new talents that are presented at this contest; a wonderful way to see what’s happening around the world!

World Press Photo Expo

Since the 16th of April the contest is started. International press photographers from 21 countries are chosen for this exposition. Hope you don’t have plans already ;). Last year’s winner is Warren Richardson from Australia with the photo below called ‘Hope for a new life’: an impressive shot of migrants crossing the border from Serbia into Hungary.

Streets of the World

Next to the World Press Photo exposition there will be also another project presented at De Nieuwe Kerk: Streets of the World. Photographer Jeroen Swolfs traveled the world in seven years to capture the daily life. The great part is that he shows the similarities of all countries and people around the world with his photographs, instead of the differences. A very positive and inspiring look on the world that you shouldn’t miss when you visit De Nieuwe Kerk!
